Our Clients goal of a holistic approach to living began with a design approach to ensure that this contemporary home is beautiful, comfortable, particularly healthful to live in, low-maintenance, energy and resource efficient, while also representing a reduction of their carbon footprint. The design makes use of every possible square foot of the small urban lot, with separate outdoor spaces, such as the covered parking pavilion (what looks from the street like a typical garage), being utilized for multiple functions: a pleasant patio for entertaining, an outdoor cooking area and a pet washing station. The screened porch is situated to take in the prevailing breezes and work with the thermal siphon stair tower, while serving as an extension of the open-floor-plan living area.
