What Happened to Green and What Happened to the Movement? A Speaking Engagement Feb 25th

  • May 25, 2017

What is “Green” Building?  What Happened to that Movement?

Starting in the early 1980’s with the development of the Austin Energy Star Program, our metro area has lead the way in the national energy efficiency and green building movement. The Austin Energy Green Building program was the first of its kind in America.  But despite its promises to radically alter the way we build and develop, the former green building movement has devolved into a checklist approach to integrating various manufacturers’ “green” building products into our homes and buildings. Or has it?

A lively panel presentation from four local, regional and national industry leaders will present their points of view.

SPEAKERS:

Alan Bell, Seton Health Care

Gail Vittori, Green Building Council

Steve Saunders, Tex-Energy

Peter Pfieffer, Barley/Pfieffer Architects (Moderator)
